Intercensal Population Survey 2015 (SUPAS2015) has great potential to provide a reasonably accurate estimate of mortality. The statement was made by researchers and observers population of Health Research and Development Agency (Balitbangkes) Ministry of Health, S. Soemantri, in the series of the opening ceremony of the National Instructor Training (Innas) SUPAS2015 at Wisma Jaya Raya, Cipayung, Bogor.
With a large sample size, as well as the verification of death is done in order to improve the completeness of reporting of deaths and reduce the possibility of misclassification of deaths, giving a chance for some of the approaches in calculating the indicator of death. Still according Soeharsono, but such approaches can lead to doubt, that the indicator of death of the approach which should be chosen, or otherwise it gives an opportunity to conduct a study of the most appropriate approach for calculating the indicator of death in Indonesia.
Indicators of death is still a demographic indicator is hard to quantify. The inadequacy of civil registration systems and vital registration as an ideal data source's death, the difficulty of calculating the indicator thresholds of death. Through the 2010 Population Census (SP2010), the BPS has been trying to obtain mortality data by means of direct (direct method), but it seems faced with the problem of data under-reporting and misclassification due Incompleteness. SUPAS2015 designed to provide a better mortality data.
However, all counting mortality is influenced by the ability to maintain the quality of the data collected. SUPAS2015 series of activities ranging from the preparation, training, supervision of data collection and reconciliation into a circuit that is very important to produce quality data and quality. Finally, Soeharsono advised, "It is no less important is the field enumerators should also have an adequate understanding of the concept of death as well as the benefits to the user, so the goal SUPAS2015 to produce accurate mortality data can be achieved."
